Building Beautiful Landscapes Since 1994
Tim’s Lawn Service was started in 1994 when, Tim Slane Jr. began mowing his neighbors’ lawns at age 11. By high school, Tim was a teenaged entrepreneur. He attended the Frederick County Career and Technology Center to study landscaping. Tim Jr. also works as a career firefighter for a neighboring county. In 1999, Tim Jr. received a chapter award in Agri-Entrepreneurship by the Kauffman Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership sponsored by the National Future Farmers of America (FFA) organization. The next year he was awarded the Youth Entrepreneur Award from the State of Maryland. With his business growing rapidly, Tim Jr. enlisted the assistance of his father, Tim Sr., incorporating Tim’s Lawn and Landscaping Service in 2001.
Tim Slane Sr. has had experience in leadership roles throughout his career as a business owner in the past and present. He continues to attend leadership training, business advancement courses, and landscape enhancements courses. Tim Sr. volunteers his time at the local fire department.
Cori Slane-Toms has been with Tim’s Lawn and Landscape Service since 2006. As our Office Manager she handles customer relations, billing, and oversees office operations. Additionally, Cori serves as TLS’ Annual Color Installation Designer.
The entire TLS staff participates in all company-sponsored training sessions, including weekly safety meetings conducted by TLS’ Safety Officer. Additionally, our staff attends expos and outside training to stay current with landscape advancements. Our Crew Foremen are hand picked from experienced personnel with a minimum of three years experience. All crew members are cross-trained to perform both maintenance and installation work.
